1. MGMT- Oracular Spectacular
I have to give MGMT-Oracular Spectacular my number 1 spot. I remember listening to this album everyday for months, on the bus to and from school as well as losing my consciousness and falling asleep to it. Oracular Spectacular had a HUGE impact on my life and I can honestly say it helped me become the person I am today. It inspired me countless amount of times and easily helped me escape reality when i needed to. It flows perfectly as a whole, and the ending of “future reflections”, also being the last song on the album, gave me chills every time I listened to it. As you can most likely tell, this album means a lot to me, I feel as if it has become a part of me in some weird way. It’s not perfect, I don’t believe in perfection, but this comes awfully close to it.
2. Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles(I)
My god, do I love this album. Listening to this for the first time felt as if I kept winning the lottery with a good song. Yes there are some, in my opinion, failures but knowing the fact that this band was not afraid of experimenting made me enjoy their music even more. Having this on your IPod when on the slopes is fantastic, the synth in “Vanished” playing while you fly down the mountain hitting a few jumps here and there is simply unbelievable.
3. Childish Gambino - Culdesac
For a long time I hated rap, couldn’t stand it, but Childish Gambino truly changed that opinion. Finding all the “punch lines” as well the deeper meanings in his lyrics made me listen to this countless number of times. Spitting a verse or even a whole song of his truly makes you feel like a bad ass, but I guess I’m saving my professional rapping career for a different life ;)

I had a lot of fun doing this music review thing, I don’t think anyone will actually read this but if you did I hope you enjoyed it. I know I have a strange taste in music, and other forms of entertainment, so please don’t feel entitled to like any of my choices. I choose these top 3 more on the premise on how much these albums effected me, and not on the quality of the music. I’ll save a recommendations list for another time. :)
